What type of scientist makes the most money?

Scientists usually don't make a ton of money. If you're just looking for a job that pays really well, doctors spend less time in college than a research scientist, don't have to do original research or write a dissertation, and can make up to 10 times as much as a scientist. Scientists are in it because that's what we like to do, not for the money. Probably a research scientist for a medical research or pharmaceutical company would make the most. If you're a research scientist for a university not doing medical research, physics pays a bit better than bio or chem on average.
