Why do people receive such harsh answers when posting anything supernatural?

Lets say we're talking about God you get the standard "mythes and fair tales" or my favorite "there is no God dammit." When people talk about ghosts which are well doented there's little doubt ghosts do exist in some form. You get people posting "stop huffing paint" or this one I thought was super harsh "No such thing, grow up seriously." Even if you don't believe in whatever the subject may be. Can't you just respect the context and not be a jerk? Most people posting supernatural problems are level headed using good grammar, clearly not on drugs or messed up in any way. They are scared and reaching out for help but instead some answerers choose to mock them when they're already suffering. Why? Do you feel it's acceptable? Do you even notice this? What's your thoughts?
